Background Information

Beginnings
M-KABATI was founded in 2022 to address the issues of financial inclusion and food insecurity in Africa. Our goal is to help individuals and families gain access to affordable food on a regular basis. We believe that no one should go hungry, and that everyone deserves access to basic necessities such as food and provisions.

Values
At M-KABATI, our values guide everything that we do. We believe in transparency, honesty, and accountability in all of our interactions with our stakeholders. We also value innovation, sustainability, and impact, and strive to incorporate these principles into every aspect of our organisation. Finally, we are committed to collaboration and partnerships, recognising that we cannot achieve our mission alone.

Approach
Our approach to addressing financial food insecurity is based on a simple yet powerful concept: we provide food availability to individuals and families through a decentralised network of micro shops. Our micro shops are owned and operated by members of the communities that we serve, creating both employment opportunities and a sense of community ownership. By leveraging technology and innovative business models, we are able to offer household products at affordable prices, while also providing training and support to our micro shop owners. This approach has proven to be effective in addressing food insecurity and better financial management in a sustainable and impactful way.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about M-KABATI. We hope that you share our passion for creating positive social impact and consider joining us on our mission to provide access to affordable and nutritious food to all.

Using debt to cover for monthly expenditure is crippling if you are struggling to make ends meet
There is a better way - pay when you can, not when you need to

It does not matter how little is available to tuck away, being able to do so brings great rewards down the line .

Support Your Local Shopkeepers

Local communities rely on shopkeepers as the glue for society to function well. Supporting their endeavours is a critical pillar of social engagement.
